Jessica was a daughter, sister, aunt, and so much more. She loved animals (especially cats), and loved her family even more. Regardless of what struggles she faced in her life, family always remained a top priority for her. Considering how much she loved children, it is incredibly heartbreaking that she sadly never got the opportunity to have any of her own, though she did try many times. But, she was lucky enough to have gotten the chance to help raise 2 little girls, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and even a few friend’s children. As much as her family loves her, her friends were equally as fond of her. One of which, even named her daughter after Jessica because of how strong their bond was!
Those that truly knew Jessica, know that she was a fierce protector and not someone you wanted to cross. If you had an issue with anyone, for any reason, Jessica was only a phone call away. She was always more than happy to come to the defense of her family and/or friends. She could pick on them sure (and she did, 😂), but anyone else be damned!
From going back to school to get her GED, to successfully completing the necessary courses to get a Medical Assistant degree, she always did her best to improve herself and build a great life. It is very unfortunate that her loved ones will never have the chance to see just how well she could have done in her life given more time. But, considering how much she survived and overcame throughout her far too short life, we are confident in saying she would have accomplished great things given the opportunity.
She had an incredible sense of humor and was just the right amount of a smart-ass. If you were having a bad day, you could always count on her to brighten it with more than a few sarcastic comments you saw coming. When she was smiling and laughing, it was impossible for those around her not to do the same.
She was not a perfect person, nobody is. She was as human as any one of us, and like the rest of us, she had her flaws and weaknesses. But, at her core, Jessica was a smart, funny, loving, decent, wonderful human being with a huge heart made of gold! Which, was very fitting given her proclivity towards gold accessories. There is truly no shortage of broken hearts due to this tragedy. To say she will be missed is a vast understatement.
